Red Like Lost Love << Back
A novel about love and music, sweet and excruciating notes that accompany every life.
Constanze Blanc lives in Paris with her mother, to whom belongs Constanze's family name, the identity of her father being unknown. Coco, as her dearest call her, is 16 years old, red-haired and has eyes the color of the jade. She is very beautiful, tall, thin and with natural talent: she plays the violin divinely. It is a passion she inherited from her mother, Sara, a young woman who is 34 years old, eclectic, with a tough character. A few days before her sixteenth birthday, Coco experiences the most painful sorrow: the death of her mother from leukemia. Thanks to Sara's diary, Coco finds out that her mother had been adopted and tries to go back and discover more about her teenage years spent in the small town of Pavia, in the north of Italy.
Going through the pages of the diary Coco also finds out that Sara's first and only love was a young Italian composer, kind, and red-haired just like her.
Constanze is sure that he could be her father but she does not know his identity. She knows only a nickname, 'Dragon', because of the many cigarettes he used to smoke incessantly ...
Constanze leaves for Pavia and decides to attend the Conservatory to immerse herself in a life that, sixteen years before, made her mother very happy when she was in love and surrounded by the magical sounds of music.
