MANUEL THE TOAD << Back

José Campanari works as a storyteller. He tells his own stories created from a phrase he has heard before or, as in the case of Manuel the Toad, from a classic character of folk tales: the enchanted prince who becomes a toad, who could only be disenchanted by a princess' kiss. But, in this case, Campanari, better known as Campa, rewrites the story and now it is Manuel the toad who doesn't want to stop being a toad but quite the contrary, although there is a princess who spends her life (without much luck) kissing toads and frogs in the pond. A funny proposal. An unforgettable tale, typical of a soap opera, in which the narrator creates a whole mess to reach out the solution of an unbelievable denouement. Campa is mirroring in Ines Vilpi's illustrations, entertaining, multiplying, and bringing about the laugh, the surprise and tenderness of the most demanding reader. The book's worth it. All the family will love it.
